A Letter from the Executive Director: Adapting Our Impact for 2026

Orphan Programs Equals Hope

Dear Project 143 Family,

For over 15 years, our community has been defined by a shared mission: bringing hope to orphan children! Through our international hosting programs, we have altered the trajectories of countless lives.

Today, the international landscape for orphan care and hosting programs is facing unprecedented challenges. Bureaucratic friction, geopolitical conflict, and shifting policies have temporarily made our traditional summer hosting programs impractical in our core regions.

Project 143 does not retreat in the face of friction. We adapt. While we continue to stage our logistics and capital reserves to launch new hosting programs the moment conditions stabilize, we cannot allow children to suffer while governments deliberate. We are therefore transitioning our resources to be highly agile, deploying capital directly to the front lines where it is needed today.

Our Immediate Summer Focus: Ukraine Relief. The children of Ukraine continue to face unimaginable challenges. To ensure the greatest possible impact right now, we have bypassed traditional channels and established direct pipelines with trusted partners inside the country.

Our immediate deployment focuses on two critical interventions:

  • Nutritional Security / Fill the Pantry: Ukrainian Government funding for displaced orphanages has fallen dangerously short. P143 is directly assisting to ensure every child has consistent access to essential proteins, eggs, and bread.
  • Mental Support / Healing Hearts: We are funding local in country "Healing Hearts" camps, providing displaced orphan children with the safety of a summer camp environment and professional trauma counseling.
  • The Broader Mission Continues: These immediate relief efforts above operate alongside our ongoing objectives. We are continuing to fund our internal Hope Grants and we are aggressively monitoring the landscape in countries like Colombia and Ukraine to deploy our hosting infrastructure when it's appropriate. These reserves are used to subsidize the heavy logistical costs of hosting sibling sets, older children, and children with special needs—ensuring financial barriers never prevent our most vulnerable children from experiencing a family.

Our core mission remains absolute. Instead of asking you to prepare a guest room this summer, we are asking you to help us fill a pantry, help a child go to a healing camp, or support a Hope Grant for future hosting. Choose your impact below:

Thank you for your continued dedication to these children.
